Easter
Easter is a Christian festival celebrating the resurrection of Jesus on the third day after his cruxifixion. Easter is preceded by a period of forty days called Lent (Carême). It's a period of fasting, prayer and penance (jeûne, prière et pénitence). The last week of Easter is called Holy Week (semaine sainte). There's Maundy Thursday also called Holy Thursday and Good Friday. Easter is moveable which means that it isn't the same date every year.
A well known symbol of Easter is the Easter Bunny, a rabbit bringing Easter Eggs to the children.
